To open the Set Constraint (as shown is Figure 4.2) box, double-click on any one of
Not applicable - no time constraint Tips: We can use 'Not at the same time slot' for courses taken by the same group of student. Not at the same day - You can use this setting to spread the same course with different lesson evenly across one week. For example you have two types of lesson for Subject A, which are Lecture and Tutorial. So that these two lessons will not occur in the same day. If required, you can enter the number of day to add the day gap between the two lessons. Tips: We use 'Not at the same day' for the same courses which we do not want them to be in the same day. Same day - not at the same time slot - This setting can be use if you want the course fall in the same day but different timeslot. Same time slot - We normally use this setting for a course which is learned in different room but at the same time. Specific Time Slot - To set specific time slot for courses, checked the Specific Time Slot box. Then select the day and time slot. Checked Include and click Add. You can exclude the time that you do not want by using Exclude. To exclude, you have to select All Slots for specific day first then exclude the time. Then click Add. To edit the time setting, you can select any time and click Delete.

Not applicable - no room constraint Same Room -Select this option to set all courses under one group are slotted into the same room (any room). Or else, you can use this function together with Same Time Slot from Time Constraint. Normally we use this setting for class merging which occurs in the same room and at the same time. Ignore Capacity Constraint - Checked this box if you want to ignore the room capacity. Specific Room - You can always use specific room constraint if there is limited room for selected courses. For example, for IT related courses, they use computer lab only. So from Available Room List, select the related lab and move it into Selected Room. You can add more than one room.

Middle of the Schedule - the course will be slotted into the slot from middle of the timetable. End of the Schedule - the course will be slotted into the slot from end of the timetable.
