Creating database
To create a database for lecturer, course and room:
Step 1: Open Timetabler Plus.xls
Step 2: Complete the lecturer (Figure 1.10), course (Figure 1.11) and room data (Figure 1.12) as shown in the previous chapter.

Step 3:Open Interface worksheet. Click Export Course List. Select the location and name the file as 'CourseList'. Then click Save.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3for another room and lecturer data. Go to next section to learn how to import the data into Timetabler Plus application.
Importing database into Timetabler Plus
To begin with:
Step 1: Open Timetabler Plus.

Step 2: Click Course Management. The Course Management dialog box will appear.

Step 3:Click to import the course list.
Step 4: You will be prompted with a file selection dialog. Look for CourseList.TDat.

Step 5: Select the file and click Open. Timetabler Plus will import the course list data into Timetabler Plus database.

Step 6: Click Close.
Step 7: Repeat Step 3 to Step 6 for Lecturer List and Room List.
Tips: To manage your data properly, it is good to put all the three data into one folder.

Tips:You can add, edit and delete room type at the Room Management dialog. Room type is important as it will make sure the courses are placed in appropriate room. To edit room type, please refer to Chapter 2 under add new room.
Editing data in Timetabler Plus
Edit existing course
Step 1: To edit course, click 
Step 2: Select and click on the course you wish to update.

Step 3:At any time, you are able to edit the course code, course name, default section, default class size, and default duration of the selected course. Once you finished, click Close.
Edit existing lecturer name
Step 1: To edit lecturer name, click 
Step 2: Select and click on the lecturer name you wish to update.

Step 3: Once you finished, click Close.
Edit existing room
Step 1:To edit existing room, go to Data tab, click on Lecture Rooms.
Step 2: Double click on the room you wish to update.

Step 3: Once you finished, click Update.
Adding new data into database (Timetabler Plus)
To add new course into Course Management:
Step 1: Click

Step 2:Click button. The new course will appear at the bottom of the list.

Step 3:Click on the new course. Rename the course code and enter the course name, section,
class size and duration.

Step 4: Once you have done, click Close.
To add new lecturer into Lecturer Management:
Step 1: Click

Step 2:Click button. The new lecturer will appear in the list.

Step 3:Click on the new lecturer and rename it.
Step 4: Once you have done, click Close.
Tips: To edit lecturer name, select the name and rename it. Once you have finished, click Close.
To add new room into Room Management:
Step 1: Click on icon

Step 2:Click button. The new room will appear at the bottom of the list.

Step 3:Click on the new room and change the Room Code, Room Name, Default Room Capacity and select the correct Room Type.

Step 4:Once you have done, click Close.
Update room type
Adding new room type
Step 1:In the Room Management window (as shown in the previous part), click button. The Room Type Management dialog will appear.

Step 2: Type in the new room type in the text box and click Add.
Step 3: Close.
Edit existing room type
Step 1:To edit the room type, select the room type and click Edit. The room type will appear in the text box.
Step 2:Type in your changes and click Update.

Delete existing room type
Step 1 : To delete a room type, select the room type and click Delete. (Or press Delete key)
Step 2: Close.
